There is a movie called “Sliding Doors”, with Gwyneth Paltrow, that tackles this issue of “what would have happened”. In the movie her character just misses the underground train in London (Sliding Doors slamming shut), and we get to see how her life plays out in both scenarios – one where she misses the train, and one where she catches the train.

We’ve all been through the “what would have happened” situations in our lives, and we wonder, regret, cry with joy, cry with pain, and wonder again. Sometimes it’s just one of those seemingly “out of our hands” situation, where we miss the bus or miss to get off at a train stop, or some other “external” factor. And sometimes it’s us making a conscious choice – we turn right instead of left, we decide to go to that party instead of staying at home…

When you don’t have a choice, and something good happens – just enjoy the ride. When you don’t have a choice, and something bad happens – just live with it, and move on. When you do have a choice, and something good happens – enjoy the ride. When you do have a choice, and something bad happens – learn from it, live with it, and move on. It’s life – just enjoy the ride, whatever happens.
