Monkey Brain = Lingchi
Lingchi, a method for carrying out a gruesome death sentence for hard criminals was used in China, Vietnam and Korea from approximately 900 CE up until the practice ended around the early 1900s.
It can be translated into “The Death of a Thousand Cuts”, and can be used to analyse our lives, to try to pinpoint all the little things that lead up to small or big life disasters. It’s important to understand that your divorce, or getting fired from your job, or any other big bad situation in your life did not happen due to one single event, but many many small little “cuts”, accumulated over a period of time, to eventually cause the “death” of your relationship or your job, or something else.
Understanding this can be incredibly helpful so you can detect when the little cuts start to accumulate, and intervene before you reach a thousand cuts, and thereby avoid the big disaster.
Don’t let your Monkey Brain trick you into Lingchi!
